A Little Do It Yourself.

I recently, about a month ago, moved into my first apartment post undergrad. So that means I'm renting and with that comes a land of beige and white walls laminate floor entrance, bathroom, and kitchen, and greige carpet throughout. I started doing little improvements here and there to help make the place more unique and more mine. Here take a look!

This are was a bland wall with a weird diamond shape thing near the bottom right corner. I don't know what purpose served but it was weird. I was in Target one day and saw some older maps from 2012 and purchased those along with the two world maps. I think total it was about $20. All I did was tape the sheets to the wall after ripping them from their book, a 2012 Road Atlas. I tried to flatten out the folded maps as best I could, but I think the lines give it character. I also didn't bother to add paper behind them, even though they are about an inch away from the wall on both sides.

This project would probably be really awesome with either magazine covers, ads, or really old Nat Geo maps.

Really simple project! I bought wrapping paper from Marshall's, about $3 a roll, and taped them to the back of my bookshelf.

This is one of the more pricey things I've done. I bought stick on wall paper from Target and printed masking tape. The wall paper was $30 and I think the tape was about $3. I did end up with a little bit left over on the wall paper, not sure what to do with it yet. This one was pretty hard, mostly because of the door handle and that I didn't have an exacto knife. I also just eyeballed everything. This was the first project I did. I really like the printed masking tape I lined the door inside with, adds a nice pop of color.

I have a few other projects in the works, like a dresser and revamping the kitchen. More pictures to come!
